Super Z6 was designed by SCC for cars, trucks, and SUV's with restricted clearance around the drive tires. Based on SCC's experience with other products in the "Z" family, Super Z6 has one very special quality: it will operate in less than half of the space required by most cable chains and tire chains. Super Z6 requires only 6mm (1/4") of sidewall clearance to operate. The diagonal pattern provides constant traction, aggressive starting, stopping, cornering and ensures compatibility on vehicles equipped with traction control and electronically monitored brake systems. Traction coils, made from alloy steel are more durable than conventional tire or cable chains. A split outside cable with two fastening positions allows for easy installation without moving the vehicle, and there's no need to stop and retighten. Most cars, trucks and SUV's manufactured since the late 80's will have special clearance requirements. Don't be fooled by the appearance of the tire positioning on your vehicle. Traction products not only have to fit the tire, but must also fit within the space provided around the tires. Most issues are hidden from view as they are behind the tire near braces, suspension parts, strut housings, splash guards and fuel and brake lines. More information should be located in the owner's manual under chains, traction devices, tires or similar heading. It is important to select a traction product that is compatible with the minimum class assigned to your vehicle. The class assigned to your vehicle is based on the original tire and wheel size shown in your owner's manual. Using a different size tire may affect the chain's ability to operate properly. Some owner's manuals state that certain tire sizes do not provide enough clearnace to accommmodate winter traction products. The fact is, many of these vehicles can use SCC's Super Z6. Trying to measure the nearest obstruction under your vehicle could prove tricky. Innovation in Tire Traction

Spikes-Spider Sport Traction elements are an innovative alternative to old-fashioned snow chains and studded tires for use on ice and snow up to or even deeper than 5"-6" deep. The Spikes-Spider Sport package comes in a set of two and is specifically designed for wide tires and for use on steeper grades and hilly terrain. Traction elements have four traction arms constructed of permanently elastic, wear resistant polymer materials, surrounding a central hub made up of those same materials. These four arms have multiple tungsten carbide studs embedded in their traction surface, with each arm connected to the other three by links of chain holding multiple other traction strips that sit atop your tire's tread This unique combination of chains and traction strips allows the arms of the Spikes-Spider Sport element to provide maximum traction in icy, snowy and every muddy road situations without affecting the tread of your tires.

The Easy, Fast and Clean Traction Solution

In addition to its superior traction abilities, Spikes-Spider Sport Traction elements also are valuable tools simply by means of their extreme ease of use when compared with traction tires and chains. Again, the secret is its multiple flexible traction arms. Unlike standard snow chains that require you to reach into the dirty wheel wells of tires to strap them on and/or precisely lay them out in the freezing snow before driving on to them, Spikes-Spider Sport elements simply attach to each of your drive wheels using a series of overlapping hubs. The first of these is a semi-permanent, heavy duty hub attached in advance to your tire's rim. The second is the Sport Traction element. The third is a hand-turned locking ring that holds it all in place. Installation and removal of traction elements on two tires can be achieved in as little as a minute, and can even be done while stuck in the snow due to the space between traction arms which allows elements to be attached, with the chain and traction strip combo automatically adjusting itself over tire treads as the car moves. Traction element removal is just as fast by removing the lock ring hub, pulling the element partially off and then driving your car a few feet to free the traction arms of the elements from under your tires.

Adjustable?	Yes, each traction arm on the Compact style has a cam adjustment that is easily turned for a small or large setting. Can be changed to fit a greater range of tires than the Quick. Spikes-Spider Compact traction device is excellent for use on ice and snow up to 5"-6" deep. Compact provides superior traction on ice. Used on moderate grades and slopes. The "Compact" style is the newest style of SPIKES-SPIDER. It has eight or nine (depending on the size) traction arms. Each arm has tungsten carbide studs embedded in the traction surface. The traction arms can be moved slightly to avoid the ground to put them on quickly and easily, once the steel hubs have been installed on two drive wheels. The arms fold down or can easily be removed from the center holding ring for storage, so they do not take up as much room in your vehicle as the Quick style. The Compact style traction ovals, that go around the tire have some adjustment-for adjustment ranges see the tables, Spider Sizes vs. Tire Sizes. Each size Compact style has a Small "S" and Large "L" adjustment using a cam that is easy to turn. Appropriate for use on moderate grades and slopes. Like the Quick, Sport and Alpine Pro, the Compact traction arms do not extend to the back portion of the tire, so they do not cause clearance problems on vehicles. Innovation in Tire Traction

Spikes-Spider traction elements are an innovative alternative to old-fashioned snow chains and studded tires for use on ice and snow up to 5"-6" deep. The Compact version of the Spikes-Spider comes in a set of two, attaching to each of your drive wheels and has eight -- or nine (depending on the size) -- traction arms constructed of permanently elastic, wear resistant polymer materials, surrounding a central hub made up of those same materials. This hub in turn attaches, via a hand-turned locking ring, to a heavy duty steel hub semi-permanently attached to your car's tire. Each arm has multiple tungsten carbide studs embedded in their traction surface, which sit just below the outer edge of the treads of your tires - but only in direct contact with them at the point of contact with the road. This allows the arms of the Spikes-Spider Compact element to provide maximum traction in icy, snowy and every muddy road situations without affecting the tread of your tires.

Virtually anyone can install or remove the Spikes-Spider, in any weather or terrain condition, in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. Again, the secret is its multiple flexible traction arms. Adjustable to the right or left, and only installing along the outer edge of your tires, the arms of the Spikes-Spider Compact element closest to the ground are easily parted as you attach the device's hub to your tire. This allows you to avoid the wet, dirty, cold job of aligning a traction device to the bottom of tires, familiar to anyone who has chained up their car along the side of an icy or snowy road. All that you need to do with Spikes-Spider Compact elements is to slip it over your tires and quickly snap them into place with the locking ring. Spikes-Spider 14.321 SPM Sport Series Winter Traction Aid - Set of 2 Overview

Spikes-Spider Sport traction device is excellent for use on ice and snow depth 6" and more. Sport provides outstanding traction on deeper snow and steeper grades and slopes. Composed of traction trac made from a combination of tungsten carbide studded traction bars, linked together with stainless steel links. The four arms, also tungsten carbide studded, hold the trac on the tire. Four support arms encircle the tires, with the tracs between the arms. The traction ovals are just as easy to put on as the Quick and Compact style. You just lay the trac on the top of the tire, center the traction oval on the previously installed steel hubs, lock on the holding ring, with a "click". Repeat on the other drive wheel. Drive a few revolutions and the traction ovals are forced by the four arms to self-mount on each tire tread. They store reasonably flat in the carrying case provided, so they take up a little less room than the Quick, but about the same as the Compact. They can be adjusted by moving the links to different holes within the each traction pad and smaller or larger links can be substituted to modify the size to fit many tire sizes. Shown below is a close-up of traction bars linked together by stainless steel links. Note that each bar has 4 holes on each end. With the complete traction oval off the tire, you can easily turn the links to the sharp "V" in the traction bar and take the end of the link out of the hole. You can then put the end of the link in another hole to shorten or lengthen the trac. You, of course, repeat it on the other end of a bar to keep the trac even. Each adjustment is approximately ¼ inch in the trac. Do not over tighten the devices or they will not self mount properly. Should have it loose enough to put the flat of your hand between the tire and the traction oval, when it is on place on the tire. [endif] [if

Spikes-Spider 19.499 AP4 Alpine Series Winter Traction Aid - Set of 2 Overview

Spikes-Spider Apline traction device is excellent for use on ice and snow depth 6" and more. Alpine provides the most agressive traction available on deeper snow and steeper grades and slopes. Composed of a steel traction trac, combined with sharpened steel cross members, make for the most agressive traction available. The four arms are strong, composite metal. Four support arms connect to the trac between the arms, so the tires are encircled on the outside portion. The traction ovals are just as easy to put on as the Quick, Sport and Compact style. You just lay the trac on the top of the tire, center the traction oval on the previously installed steel hubs, lock on the holding ring, with a "click". Repeat on the other drive wheel. Drive a few revolutions and the traction ovals are forced by the four arms to self-mount on each tire tread. As with all Spikes-Spiders, the Alpine Pro cannot damage alloy wheels or interfere with vehicle braking, ABS, steering or suspension systems. The Spikes-Spider systems are especially designed to give safety in bad conditions, with the advantage that anyone can fit on the vehicle in only one-half minute for each side and can be removed just as fast. The Alpine Pro stores reasonably flat in the carrying case, so they take up a little less room than the Quick, but about the same as the Compact and Sport styles. The Easy, Fast and Clean Traction Solution

In addition to its superior traction abilities, Spikes-Spider Alpine Traction elements also are valuable tools simply by means of their extreme ease of use when compared with traction tires and chains. Again, the secret is its multiple flexible traction arms. Unlike standard snow chains that require you to reach into the dirty wheel wells of tires to strap them on and/or precisely lay them out in the freezing snow before driving on to them, Spikes-Spider Alpine elements simply attach to each of your drive wheels using a series of overlapping hubs. The first of these is a semi-permanent, heavy duty hub attached in advance to your tire's rim. The second is the Alpine Traction element. The third is a hand-turned locking ring that hold it all in place. Installation and removal of traction elements on two tires can be achieved in as little as a minute, and can even be done while stuck in the snow due to the space between traction arms and their adjustable nature, which allows elements to be attached, with the steel track traction chain automatically adjusting itself over tire treads as the car moves.
